Ali Baggott (Head Coach)
Ali Baggott (she/her) has been a high performance coach with Field Hockey BC for over 10 years. Based out of Victoria, BC, Ali brings her extensive playing background with Canada’s outdoor program (senior and junior) and Canada’s indoor program from 2004-2012, as well as her playing career for the University of Victoria Vikes. Ali is certified with the Coaching Association of Canada with her Comp-Development (Level 3) certification and she also obtained her Masters of Education in Coaching Studies at the University of Victoria in 2022.
With Field Hockey BC she has been a regular coach on Vancouver Island leading and assisting with the island-based regional and technical development programs and she has coached provincial teams at the U18 and U16 levels for a number of years. Ali’s coaching style blends her high-level playing experience with the holistic, athlete-centred approach she has valued as an athlete at UVic and through research in her pursuits for constant coach education. In addition to coaching, Ali is a member of the Board of Directors for Field Hockey BC, the Vancouver Island Ladies Field Hockey Association and the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame. She is the technical director for the Victoria Junior Field Hockey Association coordinating quality and inclusive programming for over 400 youth in Victoria and she also runs the Sailors Field Hockey Club and Island Wildcats field hockey program.
She is currently the Manager of Digital Media at the University of Victoria as her “day job” and maintains her ties as a media officer for major games such as the Pan American Games and FIH World Cups through volunteering or consulting work with the Pan American Hockey Federation or International Hockey Federation.
