Fitness Program

Registered athletes receive a Fitness Preparation Program by the FHBC Sport Science Coach. It outlines:

  • player training plans
  • how to reduce injury
  • how to enhance athletic performance
  • muscular strength & endurance
  • co-ordination and movement stability
  • balance and range of motion
  • fitness and recovery

Athletes are fitness tested (max velocity Yo Yo test) to become eligible for and maintain eligibility in high performance programs. Please see the Trial Policy under ‘Players – Policies & Procedures

Sport Science

Registered athletes take part in various sport science elements, such as:

  • 60m sprint tests
  • anthropometric testing (height, weight, jump, reach)
  • nutrition management in sport (training and competition)
  • Concussion education
  • Functional Movement Screening and Strategies
