Systemic National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) Standards FHBC – Strategic Investment and Support 2021-2022

FHBC recently received NCCP Standards framework confirmation from the FHC Coach Education Committee. This framework can be accessed directly here. In support of this framework, FHBC this week formally adopted the following financial support initiatives towards formal coach education through the NCCP pathway for the remainder of the 2021-22 season:

1. NCCP Safe Sport Context:

  • For FHBC to continue to subsidize in full the costs associated with FHBC Member Coaches accessing Safe Sport NCCP Making Ethical Decisions workshop (approximately $75 per coach candidate).

2. NCCP Community Coach Context:

  • For FHBC to subsidize in full the costs associated with FHBC Member Coaches accessing NCCP Community Initiation Online Course ($15 per coach candidate).
  • For FHBC to subsidize in full the costs associated with FHBC Member Coaches accessing NCCP Community Coach Course – Technical Online Workshop ($50 per coach candidate).
  • For FHBC to subsidize in full the costs associated with FHBC Member Coaches accessing NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills Course – Practical Workshop ($70 per coach candidate).

3. Competition Coach Context:

  • For FHBC to subsidize 50% of the costs associated with FHBC Provincial Program Coaches accessing NCCP Competition Introduction Online Module/Course Curricula (Full Stream cost approximately $600 per coach candidate – Modular costs range from $20-$250 per Module).
  • For FHBC to subsidize 50% of the costs associated with FHBC Provincial Program Coaches accessing NCCP Competition Development Online Module/Course Curricula (Full Stream cost approximately $1800 per coach candidate – Modular costs range from $90-$200 per Module).

FHBC Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the above initiatives equate to an estimated investment of approximately $22,000 in Coach Educational (NCCP) subsidy through the Society for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. This initiative forms the basis for a continuation in FHBC’s strategic support for formal coach education with the intent to help mitigate one of the fundamental challenges in BC Member Coaches accessing formal coach education through the NCCP Pathway.

As the field hockey community looks towards 2022 Seasonal delivery, FHBC encourages all BC Member Coaches to take full advantage of this subsidy opportunity at this time. Should BC Member Coaches and/or Community Leads within the Club or League structure require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to FHBC for assistance.
