National Donation Challenge

With one month to go for both our men’s and women’s qualifiers – the ladies will also play against Ireland, in Dublin, on November 2 and 3 –  it is important that the whole Canadian Field Hockey community, from coast to coast, engage in this journey. Therefore, Field Hockey Canada is launching a National Donation Challenge to support our teams to pursue their Olympic dream. You can donate at https://fhc.sportlomo.com. The portal also accepts donations to all FHC programming. Click here for more information.

Canada’s national teams will play Ireland for a spot in Tokyo 2020; men will play in BC

FIH Olympic Qualifier Draw occurred this Monday, September 9, and set a matchup between Canada and Ireland for both women’s and men’s national team. These encounters will decide who qualifies for next year’s Summer Olympics; whoever wins the two-game series will book their ticket to Tokyo 2020.

Ranked top-10 in the world, Canada men’s national team will have the advantage of playing the series at home. FHBC is excited to be a part of the FIH Olympic Qualifier and assist hosting this amazing event. The men’s series will happen on October 26 and 27,  in the Lower Mainland (location yet to be confirmed). The women will play in Dublin, Ireland, on November 2 and 3.

Since earning silver medals at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, both Canadian teams have been preparing for this decisive moment. The women secured their spot in the Olympic Qualifier after finishing second in this year’s FIH Hockey Series in Valencia in June, while the men got it by winning the Hockey Series Finals in Kuala Lumpur, in April.
