The fourth day of the U18 Field Hockey Canada Nationals was excellent for Team BC. While the men practically secured the gold medal, in the women’s championship there is going to be a BC clash in the final between Rams and Stags.
BC Clash among women
In the first women’s semi final, the Rams were able to beat Ontario West by 4-1. It was a very balanced game despite the significant margin, and the BC girls celebrated a lot after the final whistle.
The BC Stags were facing Ontario Central in the other semi final and were able to open up the score in the first minute of the match. Through the rest of the encounter, they managed to control the game and finished with a 4-0 victory.
Rams and Stags will play at noon this Monday, July 8, for the gold medal.
In the consolation pool, the BC Lions have a pretty good lead with 9 points, five over the second place, Ontario East. Yesterday, the Lions beat Quebec by 7-0 and face Alberta to close the participation in the Nationals.
Boys’ perfect run
The BC U18 men are pretty close to a gold medal. In a pool with Quebec and Alberta – with each team playing each other three times – the team from BC have won all their four games so far and only need another win to guarantee first place and the title.
They will play twice this Monday, July 8, against Alberta and Quebec.
