Field Hockey BC will host the first National Championship Festival involving both male and female divisions at U15, U18, and U23. The Championships will take place in the City of Surrey and utilize the first class water-based field hockey facilities at Tamanawis Park. Held over an eight day period (July 17-25, 2017), and involving the top athletes, coaches, and officials from across Canada, the Championships promise to be a true celebration and we encourage all fans to mark their calendars accordingly!
The move to host multiple National Championship events within the same calendar time frame and at the same host venue, is part of the recent strategic commitment to Long-Term Field Hockey Development Competition Review. In this case, the focus is very much targeted at the performance stream for athletes, coaches, and officials; and it is hoped that this Festival Celebration will act as a catalyst for similar events at both the developmental and social level of our sport.
